Welcome

On Rossie Island, the low green island where Montrose meets the South Esk, an old bowling clubhouse beside its former green has been restored as the Flower Pavilion.

The floral designer Linda Cooper opened it in September 2016, and her dog Liesel is usually somewhere nearby.

The pavilion is a shop, a studio and a coffee hatch at once. Buckets of seasonal flowers fill the shop, the studio is where the bouquets, wreaths and arrangements for weddings and every other occasion are made by hand, and the hatch serves hot drinks to take out onto the green, where the old bowling lawn is kept as smooth as ever.

The Flower Pavilion opens from Tuesday to Saturday, and it is a lovely place to stop on the way into Montrose or out to Montrose Basin.
