Pluscarden Abbey is a real gem hidden away in Morayshire and found a few miles out of Elgin, in Black Burn glen. A working Catholic Benedictine monastery, its serene atmosphere and awesome architecture stand out. Offering spiritual retreats as well as day visits, this is the only working medieval British monastery still being used as originally intended.
