The beach at Luss runs along the shore of Loch Lomond at the foot of the village, a curve of sand and shingle beside the pier, with the long view across the water to Ben Lomond.

It is one of the most popular spots on the whole loch, and on a warm summer day it fills with families paddling, picnicking and messing about in the shallows.

It is also a place for getting out on the water: kayaks and paddleboards launch from the sand, and boats set out from the pier beside it on summer trips around the loch and its islands. Walk a little way along the shore and it quickly gets quieter. The village's stone cottages, its church and its cafés are all a few minutes' walk behind the beach, and there is a large car park at the edge of the village. Come early in the day, or in the evening, when the crowds have gone and the light turns gold on the hills across the loch.
