Rest and be Thankful
Introduction
The Rest and be Thankful is a stunning mountain pass viewpoint which divides Glen Kinglas from Glen Croe.
It gets its name as it was once a place where people travelling the country would stop, rest and be thankful that they have reached the top of their climb.
It's a very popular viewpoint which follows the line of the old military road built in 1753 by General Wade and his soldiers.
There is quite often a catering van available here serving hot and cold snacks in the car park, so makes a worthwhile detour.
