Welcome

Dulse is a seafood restaurant on Queensferry Street in Edinburgh's West End, and it's the place to go when you want Scotland's fish and shellfish at their freshest.

It's from the chef Dean Banks, who set it up as a neighbourhood seafood restaurant, and it comes in two halves. Downstairs is an intimate wine and cocktail bar with small plates to share, and upstairs is the restaurant, with a seasonal menu inspired by Scotland's coastline, served à la carte or as a tasting menu. Expect Shetland mussels, Skye langoustines, oysters and scallops, with a wine list that leans to the Old World and reaches from Portugal to Armenia. There's an oyster happy hour from five to six on weekdays, a lunch menu and a children's menu too, and it's in the Michelin Guide. Dulse opens every evening and from midday Wednesday to Sunday, and you can book through its own site. There's a second Dulse in Leith.
