Corner Shop
A wine bar and restaurant on Old Dumbarton Road in Yorkhill, with Spanish small plates to share, a set lunch and a mostly Spanish wine list.
Corner Shop is a wine bar and restaurant on a corner of Old Dumbarton Road in Yorkhill, a short walk from Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
The cooking takes its lead from Spain, served as small plates to share, from grilled chorizo toast and tortilla to fresh fish, a pork chop and a Basque cheesecake to finish. At lunchtime there's a set menu that's very good value, and in the evening it's easy to stay for a few more plates than you planned. The wine list leans Spanish, and there are cocktails too, so it works as well for a glass and a nibble as for a long dinner with friends. The Good Food Guide rates it good on every count. It's open from noon every day until late, which makes it a lovely stop after a morning in the museum or a walk through Kelvingrove Park. Book a table through its own website, especially for a weekend evening.
