Sitting on a rocky cliffside over the Kyle of Tongue, the origins of Castle Varrich remain unknown. Believed to have been connected to the nearby Clan Mackay, the castle was renovated in 2017 to allow visitors to access it, including a new viewpoint out towards the mountains of Ben Hope and Ben Loyal.
