Bettyhill Tourist Information & Cafe

A whitewashed cottage on the A836 in Bettyhill, home to the village's tourist information point and a small café, with benches and picnic tables out front.

Welcome

On the main road through Bettyhill, a low whitewashed cottage with dark red dormers does two jobs.

The blue sign by the door marks the village's tourist information point, the place to ask about the north coast; the other door belongs to the Clachan Café.

Outside there are benches along the wall and picnic tables on the gravel, good for a coffee in the sea air. Inside, the café is small and bright, with a counter, a coffee machine and a chalkboard menu on the wall.

Bettyhill makes a natural stop on the long road along the top of Scotland. Within a few minutes are the Strathnaver Museum, which tells the story of the Clearances in the old parish church, the sheltered sands of Farr Bay below it, and, across the River Naver to the west, the wide beach and climbing dunes of Torrisdale Bay.
