Places to Stay in Argyll for Two

In a cabin by the loch, the water is outside the door and there is nobody else about. These are our favourite places in Argyll for just the two of you.

Curated and written by Hidden Scotland

Updated 23 September 2026. Across Argyll and Bute.

Sometimes all you want is a few quiet days together, with nothing to do but walk the shore, eat well and watch the light change over the water. Argyll is made for that, with its long sea lochs, wooded shores and little harbour towns. Loch Fyne and Oban are both known for their seafood.

We've picked out the places built for two. There are off-grid bothies on Loch Nell that you reach by boat or on foot, and a cabin on Loch Fyne with its own stretch of shoreline. Near Appin, contemporary cabins with hot tubs look out to Castle Stalker, and you can wake up to the castle from your bed. There's a one-room cabin with a deck over Loch Goil, and apartments looking over Loch Creran, some with a private hot tub.
