Slochd

Add to List

Introduction

Slochd sits at Barcaldine, a small village on Loch Creran about nine miles north of Oban. The owners, Caroline and Paul, both grew up in Oban and moved here over 30 years ago to raise their family. Paul is a local joiner who built the place himself, and that care shows.

There are three apartments. Two of them, Slochd 03 and 04, have private hot tubs out on the patio. Slochd 02 keeps the same patio and views but skips the tub. Inside, expect calm, pared-back interiors. A walnut kitchen. A super king bed dressed in Egyptian cotton. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that pull the loch right in.

It suits couples, solo travellers, anyone after a slower few days. And the location is hard to fault. Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, is fifteen minutes down the road.

Facilities & Services

Open-plan living with a generous corner sofa, smart TV and Sonos sound bar. The walnut kitchen comes fully equipped, with fresh coffee provisions to start the morning. A super king bed, Egyptian cotton linen, Arran Aromatics toiletries and a walk-in rainfall shower. Fast WiFi throughout. Private hot tubs in Slochd 03 and 04.
