Hideaways in Perthshire

At the end of a gravel track, down a private drive or high on a hillside with nobody else in sight, these are Perthshire's hideaways. They're the places to switch off, slow down and let the world go quiet.

There's a special kind of peace in turning off the road and knowing there's nobody else about. Out here it's just you, the hills and the sound of the wind. Perthshire's glens are full of places like this, and you don't have to go far to find one.

We've picked out our favourite hideaways in Perthshire. There are off-grid huts high on a hillside, a cabin on the edge of a loch with a wood-fired bath outside, and a cottage up a gravel track with an outdoor bath under cover. Near Blair Atholl, a farm cottage rebuilt from a shell sits at the end of a single-track road and a private drive. Out by Loch Rannoch there's a Victorian lodge tucked away in the glen for a bigger party, and a little cabin with floor-to-ceiling windows onto the loch.
