Dog-Friendly Places to Stay in Argyll

With its long loch shores, oak woods and quiet forest tracks, Argyll is a wonderful place to bring the dog. These are the places to stay where your four-legged friend is welcome too, from cabins at the water's edge to a Victorian villa by the sea.

A holiday with the dog is all about the walks, and Argyll has them in every direction. There are paths along the shores of the sea lochs, tracks through the forests and hills, and beaches where a dog can run until it's happy to curl up for the evening.

We've picked out our favourite dog-friendly places to stay in Argyll. There's an off-grid bothy in the oak woods above Loch Nell, and cabins on the shores of Loch Goil and Loch Fyne where the water is right outside the door. Near Appin, contemporary cabins for couples look out to Castle Stalker. For a bigger party there's a Victorian villa on the shore of the Kyles of Bute. Some take only one dog or ask for approval first, and one keeps dogs away in spring and early summer while the birds are nesting, so check before you book.
