Inside Bailies Cottage.

Bailies Cottage is a traditional stone cottage on the Mayen Estate, a short stroll through the old rock gardens to the River Deveron. It was renovated in 2024, with a new kitchen, a big table for everyone and a sitting room with a wood-burning stove and unlimited logs. It sleeps six in two doubles, one downstairs with an accessible en-suite, and a twin, and the bathroom has a freestanding bath. The private garden has a wood-fired hot tub, a barbecue, a pizza oven and a fire pit.

Inside Gate Lodge.

The Gate Lodge was built in 1788 and stands privately in the woods of the Mayen Estate. It has been restored for two, with antique furniture, a wood-burning stove and a range cooker in the open kitchen and sitting room. The bedroom has a king-size bed in British cotton and a slipper roll-top bath beside it, with doors onto a sunny patio. Out in the woods there's a sauna of its own with an outdoor Scandi bath. There's a barbecue and pizza oven too. It's for adults only, with no pets.
