A bluefin tuna, among the world’s most expensive fish, has been spotted in the Firth of Clyde. The large fish was seen by marine observers this week, prompting excitement among wildlife and fishing communities.
Bluefin tuna are rare in these waters, and their appearance is taken as a positive signal of changing sea conditions. Experts say sightings like this may indicate improving health of marine ecosystems.
No capture has been reported. The tuna’s presence has also drawn interest from conservationists, who hope such visits may lead to more study and monitoring of giant predatory fish around Scotland.
