Welcome

The Rowan Tree is a small, family-run hotel overlooking Loch Alvie, three miles south of Aviemore, and you don't have to be staying to have dinner there.

The Cassidy family run it, the building goes back to the 1700s, and there are real fires in the lounges on a cold evening. The kitchen cooks everything fresh with plenty of Scottish produce, from hearty favourites such as fish and chips to more adventurous plates, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices too. Dinner is relaxed and informal, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, and the bar keeps a long list of malt whiskies. Dogs can't go into the restaurant, but they can join you for dinner in the bar. Phone 01479 810207 to book a table.
