A family-run Italian restaurant and pizzeria at the south end of Aviemore, facing the Cairngorms, open Thursday to Monday.
La Taverna is a family-run Italian restaurant and pizzeria at the south end of Aviemore, facing the Cairngorm mountains.
Neapolitan-style pizzas come out of its own oven, along with Italian classics, desserts and ice cream, and the bar pours Italian wines, Scottish gins and cocktails that change with the seasons. Brian, the head chef, runs the kitchen, and Morag looks after the front of house. Families are made very welcome, there's a children's menu, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets are catered for. It opens in the afternoon from Thursday to Monday, from noon at the weekend, and is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Book a table online, or order a pizza to collect and take home.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
