Rendezvous at Nargile

A family-run Turkish restaurant in Aberdeen's west end, from the family that brought Turkish cooking to the city in 1983, with meze, grills and baklava.

Welcome

In August 1983 Yusuf and Karen Iridag opened Nargile, and brought the cooking of Turkey to Aberdeen for the first time.

Twenty years later they moved to the west end and opened Rendezvous at Nargile, named for a meeting of east and west, the way the Bosphorus Bridge joins Asia and Europe.

The menu is Turkish at heart, with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes alongside. The best way to eat is to share: a spread of meze, from fried aubergine to dips and warm bread, then grills and tender lamb in rich sauces, fish and seafood, and baklava with coffee to finish. There are plenty of choices for vegetarians, vegans and anyone avoiding gluten or dairy.

The room is warm and relaxed, with tables outside when the weather allows. It is a busy, popular place, so it is best to book.
