Milk & Honey
A busy café on Dornoch's High Street for breakfasts, lunches, good coffee and home baking, with a specials board and plenty for gluten-free diets.
On Dornoch's High Street, between the chemist and the bookshop, a wooden sign swings from a stone shopfront: Milk & Honey.
Breakfasts are hearty, served from nine, and lunch brings soups, toasties and wraps, with a specials board that changes. The coffee is good, whether a salted caramel flat white or a matcha, and the baking is the real draw: carrot cake, cheesecakes and a counter of cakes to take away. There is plenty for anyone eating gluten-free.
It is small and it is popular, so at busy times there may be a few minutes' wait for a table. It opens Monday to Saturday until four; the cathedral and the green are just round the corner.

Open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm, and closed on Sundays, in Google's current record.
