Inner Hebrides, Islands, Isle of Jura
Loch Tarbert
Introduction
The island of Jura is almost split in half by Loch Tarbert, which stretches 10km inland on the western side. Found north of the Sound of Islay, this remote freshwater loch is around four miles long in total. A trip along it will take you to shingle beaches and sandy beaches alike, where yachters and sailboats often go to explore the hidden coves.
