Welcome

The Hebridean Whale Centre is the visitor centre of the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, a marine conservation charity, on Main Street in Tobermory among the harbour front's brightly painted buildings.

It is the place to learn what swims in the seas round Mull before you go looking.

Its interactive exhibitions are packed with the whales, dolphins and porpoises of the local waters and the trust's work to protect them, through research with local communities and education. Staff and volunteers are on hand to answer questions, tell you about recent sightings and share local knowledge for your visit, and there is a programme of guided walks and talks to help you spot and identify whales and dolphins yourself. Entry is free, and donations and what you spend in the gift shop go to the trust's work. In 2026 it is open every day from 10am to 5pm until the end of October.
