The Orb mark.
Only cloth bearing the Orb mark is certified as genuine Harris Tweed, made by hand on the looms of the Outer Hebrides.

The Campbell family's Harris Tweed shop by the ferry in Tarbert, selling the cloth by the length and coats, bags, hats and homeware made from it.
Right by the ferry in Tarbert, the Harris Tweed Isle of Harris shop is one of the first things you see on arriving in Harris, and one of the best places to understand the island's most famous cloth.
It grew from the Campbells of Plockropool, who made tweed for decades using the old skills before building up the family company that runs the shop today.
Inside, tall wooden shelves are stacked with folded tweed in every colour and check, and you can buy the cloth by the length to make something of your own. Alongside it are coats and jackets, satchels and handbags, flat caps and hats, throws, cushions and gifts, all made from the real thing. Look for the Orb mark, which guarantees the tweed was made by hand on the looms of the Outer Hebrides.
The shop opens from Monday to Saturday.
Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm.
