Isle of Harris
Harris Hideaway
Introduction
Set into the landscape above the Sound of Taransay, Harris Hideaway has been carefully designed to sit quietly within its surroundings, with natural rock walls and a turf roof that mirror the wild Hebridean setting. Inside, the space is open and light-filled, with floor-to-ceiling windows drawing the eye out across the Atlantic from every room, where white-tailed sea eagles and golden eagles are often seen overhead, and red deer move across the hillsides.
The layout centres around a contemporary kitchen, dining area and relaxed seating space, all positioned to take in the views. A super king bedroom sits just off the main space, paired with a generous dressing area and a bathroom designed for long, unhurried mornings, complete with a sculptural bath and walk-in shower overlooking the coastline.
Wellness is a central part of the stay, with a sauna, outdoor copper tub and quiet corners to sit and watch passing wildlife or shifting weather. The setting feels remote, yet key locations such as Tarbert and the island’s beaches remain within easy reach.
