Flavour is a small restaurant in Tarbert, the main village of Harris, where every table is a chef's table: you dine in the kitchen itself and watch each course plated up in front of you.

The chef, Chris, cooks an eight-course tasting menu and talks you through each dish as it comes, how he sourced it, grew it, prepared and cooked it, and he and the team are happy to answer questions about the cooking and the island produce all evening.

It is licensed, and the drinks list runs to locally made and Scottish craft drinks and wines. The restaurant opens on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, by booking only, so reserve a table ahead through its website. Personal chef services are limited now the restaurant is the focus, but the team will do their best with enquiries for special events. Flavour has also run a Hebridean Fine Food Festival, and its events are posted on its Facebook page.
