A distillery of two hundred years in a quiet glen near Huntly, known for richly sherried malts.

Welcome

The GlenDronach Distillery lies in a quiet valley at Forgue, in the farmland east of Huntly.

It has been making whisky here for two hundred years, and it is known above all for one thing: richly sherried single malts, matured in casks that once held sherry and taking on their depth of colour and flavour from them.

The tours show how whisky is made. The guides know the place well and take visitors through the tradition of the craft and the particular history and character of the distillery.

Tours should be booked ahead, especially in summer. The country round about is full of castles and gardens, and Huntly, with its ruined castle and Dean's shortbread, is a few miles west. It pairs well with Glen Garioch at Oldmeldrum for a day of whisky.
