Welcome

Thorneybank Farm Shop began in the 1970s as a bench of spare vegetables by the road, and three generations of the Stephen family still run it from the same spot on the B9001 near Rothienorman.

These days it's a bright shop lined with glass-fronted vending lockers, the first of their kind in the UK when they arrived in 2018, which means it's open from six in the morning until eight at night, every day of the week. Cash and contactless are both taken. The family grows its own vegetables and tatties and picks them daily, and Catherine Stephen does the baking in house, with her shortbread the favourite. Alongside them you'll find meat from Presly and Co, bread from The Bread Guy, eggs from Duncan Farms, Mackie's ice cream and Inverloch cheese. There's coffee and hot chocolate to take away, so it's a good stop on the road between Inverurie and Turriff, with Fyvie Castle a few miles to the east.
