Welcome

Morgan McVeigh's stands at Culsalmond, by Colpy, on the main road between Inverurie and Huntly, and the restaurant serves a hearty full Scottish breakfast every day until 11.30am, and home-cooked lunches from 11.45am to 3.30pm, made with good local produce.

The Cullen skink is the favourite, alongside sandwiches, baked potatoes and paninis.

To finish there is sticky toffee pudding, or something more playful, a knickerbocker glory or a banana split. Tea, coffee, scones and cakes are served until 4pm, and there are vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian choices throughout. On warm days the terrace is the place to sit, with a view across to Bennachie and the Glens of Foudland.

There is a gift shop of local food, sweets and souvenirs, and a women's fashion boutique for anyone with time to browse. It is an easy stop on the drive north, and Leith Hall is a short way west.
