Welcome

On Applegate in the middle of Arbroath, the Copper Oven is a small, busy pizzeria with an open kitchen, where the pizzas go in and out of a hot oven in a minute or two.

Jamie Butler took it over in April 2024, wanting to bring a touch of Italy to the Angus town.

The pizzas are Neapolitan, with a soft, puffy crust blistered at the edges and a crisp base, and generous toppings: the Rucola with Parma ham, rocket and fresh mozzarella, or the fiery Diavola. There are small plates of antipasti to start and a counter of ice cream to finish.

The Copper Oven opens every day, for lunch and into the evening, and does takeaway too, for a pizza on the harbour wall.
