Angeethi by Sagar Massey
An Indian restaurant on Paisley Road West in Cardonald, cooking over a grill and a tandoor, with a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
There's something about Indian food cooked over real fire, and at Angeethi by Sagar Massey the fire is the whole idea.
The name comes from the Hindi word for a traditional hearth, the heart of village homes across India, and the kitchen's two stars are its grill and its tandoor. You'll find it on Paisley Road West in Cardonald, on the south-west side of Glasgow. Sagar Massey came to the UK from India as a teenager and reached the final of MasterChef: The Professionals in 2022, and his menu takes in dishes from right across India. Start with chaat or Malabar fried chicken, then lamb chops and smoked chicken tikka from the tandoor, a Kashmiri lamb rogan josh or the Old Delhi murgh makhani, its butter chicken. The Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand in 2026, for good cooking at a fair price. It opens from 4pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and from noon Thursday to Sunday, and you can book by phone or simply drop in.

Tables are booked by phone, and you can also just drop in.
