Plans to develop Scone Palace in Perthshire as a visitor attraction have been approved after a decade of planning. The £10 million project will see the palace’s disused stable block converted into a visitor centre with a shop, restaurant and ticket office. The development also includes an adventure play park, new walking and cycling links, and a solar meadow with 2,000 panels. Scone Palace, the ancient crowning place of Scottish kings including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce, marks 60 years of being open to the public next year.
