For a meal you'll remember, head to a working farm in the foothills of the Cheviots.

Wilson's Farm and Kitchen is at Cowbog Farm, just outside Morebattle, where three generations of the Wilson family have farmed since 1938. Robert looks after the Hereford cattle and Lucy runs the kitchen, cooking with the farm's own beef and lamb, fruit and vegetables from the farmhouse garden, and produce from neighbours across the Borders. There's no restaurant to walk into. Instead, the Wilsons hold set-menu meals on chosen dates, from curry nights and a 25 Mile Roast Lunch in The Stables to summer barbecues outside under the willows. Many begin with a short tour of the farm, so wear sensible shoes and bring a warm jacket. The farm isn't licensed, so bring your own drinks. It won Best Eating Experience at the South of Scotland Thistle Awards in 2025, and the dates are posted on its website.
