Welcome

Bianca spent years as a retail manager, and when she moved to Moray she saw what the handsome old High Street in Forres could be.

She opened ULY + RO at number 95 in November 2024. The name comes from her two nephews, Ulysses and Roman.

It’s a shop of home decor and gifts from small independent brands, in Scotland and further afield. Look for the Lucky Swallows, wall ornaments moulded in Scotland from broken fish boxes that were gathered on beach cleans. There are brass pins that each begin as a drawing and are finished by hand, mugs with an unusual angled shape, and hand creams, soaps and perfumes.

It’s the kind of shop where you go in for a card and come out with a present. Forres is on the A96 between Inverness and Elgin, and the High Street is worth an hour of anybody’s day. Opening hours aren’t given on the shop’s own site, so check before a special trip.
