The Galley Café

A blue seafood café and takeaway at Earlish on the road to Uig, looking over Loch Snizort.

Welcome

The Galley is a seafood café and takeaway in a blue building at Carnbeag, Earlish, just off the A87 a few minutes south of Uig in the north of Skye, well signed from the road, up a steep drive past the house.

Inside it is bright, with duck-egg blue walls, wooden tables and a nautical feel, and the windows look out over the headland to Loch Snizort; there are round tables outside on the gravel too.

Freshly caught seafood and locally sourced meat fill the menu, with a daily specials board on every table: langoustines and squat lobster with garlic or chilli, crab, fish and chips, burgers, and vegetarian dishes too, with most seafood offered as a small plate for lunch. It is busy, so booking is wise, and locals can phone ahead for a takeaway. It opens Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 8pm. There is a ramp to the door and the terrace, and it makes a good stop on the way to or from the Uig ferry.
