Sinclair’s Larder

A bright café bistro on Edzell's High Street, with fresh seasonal food, home baking and good coffee, open seven days a week.

Call
Welcome

On the broad High Street of Edzell, the village at the foot of Glen Esk, Sinclair's Larder is a café bistro behind a purple shopfront.

Outside is a planted, shaded terrace, with blankets for cooler days. Inside it is bright and a little quirky, with a striped wall, neon and handwritten menu boards.

It serves fresh, seasonal food and traditional home baking, seven days a week. Breakfast runs until half past eleven, lunch starts at noon, with main dishes, light bites, deep-filled sandwiches and soup, and coffee and cake are served all day. The Caesar salad, the ploughman's and the club sandwich are favourites, and so are the traybakes and cakes.

The entrance is level and there are accessible toilets. It is a good place to start or finish a day in the Angus Glens: Edzell Castle and its walled garden are on the edge of the village, and the walk to the Rocks of Solitude and the Blue Door follows the North Esk nearby.
