Na Gruagaichean

A Munro of 1,054 metres in the Mamores, climbed from Kinlochleven by an old stalkers' path up Coire na Ba.

Welcome

Na Gruagaichean, 1,054 metres, stands in the Mamores, the range with Glen Nevis on one side and Kinlochleven on the other.

The village, at the head of Loch Leven, is a little over two miles away in a straight line. Binnein Mor, the higher hill next door, is about a kilometre and a half to the north-east, and Stob Coire a' Chairn and An Gearanach are about two kilometres to the north-west. At number 75 of the 282 Munros, it sits well inside the top hundred by height.

It is usually climbed from Kinlochleven, by an old stalkers' path up Coire na Ba to the ridge, and it is often climbed with Binnein Mor on a longer day. The Lochaber avalanche forecast does not name the Mamores, but under snow the risk is here all the same. Choose a day with a good forecast, and carry a map, a compass and warm clothes.
