Edinburgh
Mons Meg
Introduction
Located at Edinburgh Castle, Mons Meg is the nickname given to a muzzle-loaded siege gun that was first built in the 15th century. Shooting cannons up to 1.5 miles, it was often used to celebrate the visit of a monarch or nobles. Though it was once held in the Tower of London, a notable campaign returned it to Edinburgh in the 19th century.
