Loch Ness Statue

Welcome

Nobody drives along Loch Ness without keeping half an eye on the water, and this statue gives you a good reason to pull over.

The Loch Ness Statue is a 2.4-metre steel sculpture beside the A82, made by hand by a local family metalworks. It celebrates the monster, whose legend began in 1933 when the Inverness Courier reported a sighting by a local couple. The story went round the world. From the statue you get lovely views over Loch Ness and the hills around it. There's a hotel and gift shop close by, with toilets, souvenirs and refreshments, so it makes an easy break on a long drive.
