Welcome

The Fairy Bridge of Glen Creran is a little mossy stone bridge above a waterfall, hidden in the woods of Glen Creran near Appin.

It isn't signposted: a local family gave it its name in the 1980s to fire their children's imaginations, and you have to hunt for it in the trees.

The walk to it is a loop of about four kilometres from the Elleric car park, an hour to an hour and a half, through the mixed woodland of Coille Mheadonach with good views up Glen Creran. A muddy stretch leads to the bridge and its waterfall, and nearby is Fas na Cloiche, a pine tree growing out of an enormous boulder. The way back follows the quiet minor road up the glen. The paths are muddy in places, so boots are best, and it is a good walk for children.
