Welcome

On the ground floor of the Sandman Signature hotel, at the north end of the city centre, Chop Grill & Bar is a big, buzzy steakhouse with a long bar, orange leather stools and deep booths under warm hanging lamps.

A neon sign on the brick wall says Gie's a bosie, Doric for give us a hug.

The menu mixes Canadian recipes with Scottish produce. Steaks are the heart of it, all British beef, alongside burgers, chipotle mango chicken, haggis bon bons and plates to share, with sticky toffee pudding to finish and a vegan steak for anyone who wants one. The cocktails are made by hand at the bar.

It is a relaxed place for lunch, a drink after work or a night out, open every day from noon until late.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
