The Bread Maker
A bakery and coffee house on Rosemount Viaduct in Aberdeen, a social enterprise where adults with learning disabilities train as apprentices, open since 2006.
The Bread Maker on Rosemount Viaduct is a bakery and coffee house with a big heart, and a lovely place to start the day in the middle of Aberdeen.
It's a social enterprise, open since December 2006, where adults with learning disabilities work as apprentices alongside skilled bakers, baking while the city sleeps and serving in the coffee house by day. Its artisan loaves turn up on menus across the city, and here you can take one home. Breakfast runs from half past eight until half past eleven, then there are sandwiches, wraps, salads and homemade soups through the day, with Italian coffee and something sweet to go with it. Sit in, or take it away and walk down to Union Terrace Gardens, a few minutes along the road. If you'd love to bake your own, its bread-making courses for groups of six cover everything from focaccia to sourdough and butteries. It opens Monday to Saturday.

Open Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 4pm, to sit in or take away.
Breakfast is served until 11.30am.
