Canna Community Shop

An honesty shop a short walk from Canna pier, with island crafts, gifts and groceries.

Welcome

The Canna Community Shop is a small whitewashed building a short walk from the pier, behind green railings with a hand-painted Shop sign, and it runs on trust.

Visitors help themselves to groceries and to gifts and crafts made on the island, and pay into the honesty box; a share of the money goes into the community fund and helps pay for island projects.

Inside, timber shelves hold tins, jars and cold drinks alongside cards, books, mugs and soft toys, and there is a table by the window looking over the harbour. A whiteboard on the wall records the wildlife people have seen on Canna and Sanday: seals, eagles and more. Visiting yachts pay their mooring fees here too, into the moorings box. There is no mobile signal on the island, and the red phone box by the little post office next door is the way to make a call. The Visitor Hub by the pier has toilets and showers.

Mooring fees for visiting yachts are paid here, £20 a night. No opening hours are published.

CalMac ferry from Mallaig; day trips on Wednesdays and Saturdays, April to October. No visitor vehicles.
