Welcome

Café 83 is on Station Road in Kemnay, a village by the Don west of Inverurie, and by day it is the village café.

The counter is full of home-baked goodies, and the menu runs through soup, sandwiches, cakes and croissants, with freshly ground coffee.

From Thursday to Saturday evenings it turns into something else: tapas nights, with small plates, good wine and cocktails. Children eat free between 5pm and 6pm, which makes the early part of the evening a relaxed one for families.

The café has a thoughtful touch for anyone who wants a glass or two: book a tapas night in advance and it will lay on a free taxi or bus to bring guests in and take them home, for groups from two to twenty-four people within about ten miles. It makes Kemnay a good stop on a day in the Don valley, with Castle Fraser and Bennachie both close by, and Monymusk's old village a few miles up the road.
