Blair Drummond Smiddy Farmshop
A farm shop, butcher and café at Blair Drummond, west of Stirling, selling local produce with a view of the Gargunnock Hills.
The Smiddy is a farm shop, butcher and café at Blair Drummond, a few miles west of Stirling on the road to Doune, in a big, bright timber building with a curved roof and wide views to the Gargunnock Hills.
It was set up to give local people a better alternative to distant supermarkets, and it sources its food from Scottish suppliers and local farms wherever it can.
Inside, under the exposed roof timbers, the shop is laid out like a market hall, with local seasonal produce, groceries and ready meals, and a butchery counter with local meat. The café serves breakfasts, lunches, cakes and coffee made with food from the shop's own shelves, and there is takeaway too. It makes an easy stop for a meal or a picnic on the way into the Trossachs, or after a day out nearby. The shop and butchery open every day from 8.30am to 6pm, and the café from 9am to 5pm.
