You’ll have the chance to spot seals, dolphins, porpoises, and maybe even a golden eagle soaring overhead. For those with less time, the Mini Return trip offers a shorter, non-landing cruise. And for the more adventurous, one-way trips are available for walkers and climbers who want to explore the area further. They also offer trips with longer ashore times .

Getting there: Elgol is located on the Strathaird Peninsula, on the south coast of Skye. It’s reached via a winding single-track road from Broadford (the B8083), a journey of about 45 minutes. Free car parking is available at Elgol Jetty.

When to visit: Bella Jane Boat Trips operate from April to October, with sailings throughout the day . It’s advisable to book in advance, especially during peak season. Sailings are subject to weather conditions, so it’s always a good idea to check ahead .   

Good to know: Dogs are welcome on board, but Bella Jane should be notified in advance . Refreshments are included on all trips, and snacks are also available .
