Places to Stay on the Beach

Staying right on the beach means the sand is your garden and the sea is the first thing you hear in the morning. From cabins on the shore to cottages above the dunes, these are the places where you're on the sand before breakfast.

Staying right on the beach means the sand is your garden, the sea is the first thing you hear in the morning and a walk along the shore is as simple as opening the door. Scotland's beaches are some of the most beautiful anywhere, and a great many of them are empty even in August.

We've rounded up our favourite places to stay on the beach, from cabins tucked into the dunes to cottages with the tide coming in below the window. Every one of them is on the shore, close enough to hear the waves at night.
