Places to Stay on Skye for a Group

Whether it's a big birthday, a family get-together or a crowd of friends heading for the hills, Skye has some wonderful places to gather everyone under one roof. Here are our favourites, from big houses by the sea to a whole island of your own.

Updated 23 September 2026. Across the Isle of Skye.

Some trips are all about the people you bring. It might be a big birthday, three generations of one family, or a group of friends out on the hills all day and cooking together all evening. Skye is a wonderful place for all of them, as long as you've found somewhere with room for everyone.

We've picked out the places on the island that take a crowd. There are big houses with long kitchen tables and sea views from the bedrooms, hotels you can take over for a celebration, and simple bunkhouses and hostels you can book out entirely. There's even a lighthouse cottage on its own tidal island. However many of you there are, these are the places where the best part of the holiday is being together.
