Cafés
in Stirlingshire.
Crêpes on Baker Street, meringues in Callander.
Stirling's cafés line the streets that climb to the castle. A mint-green café on cobbled Baker Street makes crêpes and waffles, an old coffee house on Bow Street is known for its soups and its ghost, and a roaster's café on Friars Street pours careful filter coffee. There are Italian pastries on King Street, pancakes on Murray Place and a coffee house at the foot of the Wallace Monument. Further out, Callander has giant meringues and a secret garden, Luss has its soups, Balmaha makes its own ice cream and Stronachlachar looks straight down Loch Katrine. Out of season, check ahead before driving out to the lochs.
