Bob & Berts is a big, bright coffee shop on Murray Place in the middle of Stirling, one of a family of cafés that began in Northern Ireland in 2013 and has since spread across Scotland and into England.
Its blue sign advertises coffee, and behind the glass front is a long counter and plenty of room to sit.
It is open all day, every day, from breakfast to the end of the afternoon, with a wide menu of breakfasts, pancakes, toasties, soups and traybakes, and the coffee to go with them. It is an easy place for a family, a group or anyone who wants to sit a while with a laptop or a newspaper. Murray Place is a few minutes from the railway station and the shops, and the climb up to the Old Town and the castle starts nearby. The café opens from 8am to 6pm, and from 9am on Sundays.
