Made in Stirling is a shop and gallery on King Street, in the middle of the city, given over entirely to the work of local artists and makers.
Its sales help Creative Stirling's community work, and the whole point is to show the best of what is made in and around Stirling in one place, from paintings and prints to pottery, jewellery, textiles, cards and gifts.
The shop is a bright, open room of wooden display stands and walls hung with framed work, and it is a good place to find a present or a souvenir that was not made in a factory: a print of the castle, coasters with the Wallace Monument or the Kelpies, or a tin of caramel and sea salt biscuits with a drawing of the city skyline. Its galleries hold changing exhibitions, and there are workshops and courses, including pottery. It opens every day from 10am to 5pm, with the occasional late night.
