The Seafood Shack
A seafood trailer on West Argyle Street in Ullapool, cooking the local catch to order since 2016, with tables outside under a canopy, from April to October.
There's nothing quite like eating fresh seafood outdoors in a Highland harbour town, and the Seafood Shack has been cooking it in Ullapool since May 2016.
Kirsty, who was born and raised in the village, and Fenella, from Achmore, started it in a catering trailer to keep more of the local catch at home, and Kirsty's partner owns one of the boats that lands much of what they cook. The menu is small and changes with what comes in. It's all seafood, cooked to order, and the day's dishes go up on their Instagram and Facebook stories each day. You order at the hatch off West Argyle Street and eat at wooden tables in the yard, under a big canopy, with the mountains across Loch Broom beyond. It opens every day from April to the end of October, from midday, and there are no bookings, so it's first come, first served. Bring a jacket, since every seat is outside.

No bookings: order at the hatch and wait for your name.
