Welcome

Laggan sits on the upper reaches of the Spey, in a little hollow between the Monadhliath and the Grampian hills, and if the village looks familiar, it played Glenbogle in the BBC's Monarch of the Glen.

Laggan Stores Coffee Bothy and Gallery is the village café, in a stone building. There's breakfast and lunch, tea and good coffee, and a counter of homemade cakes, with vegan and gluten-free bakes among them. A small shop and gallery sits alongside, so there's something to browse while the kettle boils, and you can sit indoors or take your coffee outside when the sun's on the village. Children are made welcome too. It's a lovely stop on the road between Newtonmore and Spean Bridge, and handy for the Laggan Wolftrax mountain bike trails just along the way. It's open from Tuesday to Saturday, half past nine until four, and on Sunday from eleven until two.
